Laminar Flow Cabinets
Biocontainment is a major consideration for the microbiologist, especially where toxic or pathogenic materials are being used. The primary, or top, level of containment is achieved through a laminar flow hood or similar device, a good example being the CAS BioMAT 2 Class 2 Microbiological Safety Cabinet.
Biological Safety Cabinets
A Biological Safety Cabinet is a primary engineering control used to protect personnel against biohazardous or infectious agents. It also helps maintain quality control of the material being worked with as it filters both the inflow and exhaust air. CAS provides a wide range of types and lasses of safety cabinets.
