Standard and Engineered Solutions

We can provide both standard and engineered microbiological safety cabinet solutions:
  • Standard: Class 1, 2 or 3 microbiological safety cabinets, in three standard widths with recirculating, ducted, or thimble exhaust modules plus a wide range of ancillaries to suit the particular requirements of the laboratory.

  • Engineered: We can provide Class 1,2, or 3 safety cabinets, which can be engineered to meet customers’ specialised requirements while conforming to the requirements of EN 12469:2000.

Typical design modifications can include:

  • Dimensions: cabinets can be made to non-standard internal working heights and/or depths to accommodate specific laboratory instruments or processes.

  • Materials: cabinets can be manufactured completely in stainless steel or other materials to meet customers’ specific requirements.
  • Access facilities: cabinets can be modified to provide additional access to the containment area, allowing for loading/unloading or monitoring of internal equipment to suit specific process needs.

  • Ancillaries: additional features can be fitted to permit specific processes to be carried out under containment. These may include provision of medical gases, microscopes, wells with drainage facilities, heated or chilled areas, pumps, vacuum connections, etc.

Mock-ups

Where ergonomic issues are critical, we can provide mock-up, prototype designs of our proposed biosafety cabinets in MDF prior to final design acceptance and release for manufacture.

Tested and assembled in our own factory

All CAS biosafety cabinet types have been independently type-tested and approved to the requirements of the European Safety cabinet standard EN 12469:2000, guaranteeing product performance. They are then assembled in our facility, which has been independently assessed and approved to the requirements of the Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001:2008.
